Having spent the last five days at the annual Mercedes-Benz and HWA winter camp in the Austrian Alps, Felix made a quick return to Sweden on Wednesday afternoon - before he flies out to Valencia for the first Formula 3 Euro Series test of the year on Friday morning.
The camp in Austria is a traditional getting-together for Mercedes-Benz's DTM and talent development programme drivers, and features a schedule of intense form-topping training for the up-coming racing season. Activities this year included cross-country skiing, snowshoe running and a thorough regime of further stamina and mental work out.
Apart from the pure physical elements of the camp, the event also enabled the drivers to socialise and get to know each other for the year ahead, with Mercedes using the occasion to harness their forces as they continue their commitments on the DTM and Formula 3 Euro Series stage.
Among the drivers joining Felix at the camp were F3 rival Daniel Juncadella - who will enter his third consecutive season in Formula 3 Euro Series this year - and 2011 champion Roberto Merhi.
With most of the core pre-season training now behind him, Felix promptly shifts his attention towards the actual performance behind the wheel. The Valencia test runs over two days this week - Saturday and Sunday - before Felix and the rest of the field travel north up the eastern coast of Spain for the final days of preparations at Barcelona on March 21-22.
Felix Racing will of course bring you full reports from all four days of testing, with the first reactions on Dallara's new F312 chassis and early indications on the relative balance of power ahead of the 2012 Formula 3 Euro Series campaign.
