Felix has completed a week of physical training in the Swedish mountains of Åre, as part of his preparations for the up-coming Formula 3 Euro Series races at the Nürburgring next weekend.
The Åre region, set in an Alpine landscape perhaps best known for its winter skiing facilities and FIS World Cup events, provided Felix with plenty of opportunities to boost his fitness level ahead of the second part of the racing season.
The week included an 18 km hiking trip up and down the famous Åreskutan peak, two days of mountain bike riding, a range of swimming activities - and some relaxing sauna bathing. Felix also found time for a spontaneous visit to the waterfalls of Tännforsen with his 2009 Formula Renault team-mate, Daniel Roos.
"I had a really great time in Åre last week," Felix said. "I got to spend a few days with some friends up there, and it was the perfect way to recharge ahead of the Nürburgring. For me, physical training - particularly outdoors - is also a very effective means of mental preparation for the job ahead. It helps me to increase my level of concentration, and I am full of energy and highly motivated to get back to racing. I can't wait for next weekend!"
