Felix wins Rydell Special Award for second consecutive year

2010-01-24
Yesterday, Felix Rosenqvist crowned his successful 2009 season by receiving the distinguished Rydell Special Award for the second year in a row. The accolade was presented at the Swedish Motorsport Gala in Örebro, and gives Felix a 50.000 SEK (approx. Euro 5.000) cheque towards the up-coming season. Furthermore, this year's award winner also gets a Formula 3 test with Performance Racing at Silverstone, valued at about 100.000 SEK (approx. Euro 10.000).

The Jury's Statement:
A double champion who, with speed and versatility, has shown that he is ready for a new challenge in international single-seater racing.

Rickard Rydell comment:
Felix Rosenqvist is handed the award for the second time and is ready to make the step out into Europe. He has performed well in 2009, both in Sweden and in the one-offs he has done abroad, and is a worthy winner of the Rydell Special Award.

During the evening, Felix also took to the stage to collect his two medals for winning the Swedish and North European Zone Formula Renault championships. More than 600 people attended the gala, which included entertainment acts from impersonator Göran Gabrielsson (whose account of 1984 World Rally champion Stig Blomqvist was particularly popular!) and singer Linda Bengtzing.

Thank you to Rickard Rydell for once again displaying commitment and support for Felix.
