Felix to sport new helmet design at Norisring

Felix will race with a brand new helmet design at this weekend's Formula 3 Euro Series and FIA European F3 Championship round at the Norisring.

With his previous helmet having failed safety checks following the Pau Grand Prix in France earlier this year, Felix has been forced to use a temporarily unpainted, black design for the last two rounds of the season, but will now sport a fresh livery as he goes into one of the most eagerly anticipated events on the calendar.

"I'm very, very happy with this design, and the way in which it combines something new with many of the classic features that have always been a part of my helmet livery," Felix says. "I've taken inspiration from several different people - including former F1 world champions Jacques Villeneuve and Kimi Räikkönen. I wanted to carry on with the same basic structure I've been sporting since I got into F3 back in 2010, but thought it could be cool to add a darker touch to it. That's why the yellow details have disappeared, and this livery feels aggressive yet neat and tidy. I can't wait to try it out on track this weekend!"

The helmet has been painted by Swedish artist Lasse Mehtola of 360gfx.

The Norisring weekend kicks off with free practice tomorrow morning (Friday). Pictures of Felix and his new helmet design in action will be published here at the website throughout the event.
