FORMULA 3 EURO SERIES
Date: September 9th, 2011
Venue: Silverstone (Great Britain)
Felix got the Formula 3 Euro Series weekend at Silverstone off to the perfect start by setting the fastest time in Friday morning's free practice session at the British Grand Prix venue.
Felix was a feature at the top of the timesheets for most of the session, and eventually managed to post a 1m54.464s best to end up a quarter of a second ahead of second-placed Daniel Juncadella (Prema Powerteam).
Marco Sörensen, who replaces Nigel Melker in the second Mücke Motorsport car as the Dutchman bids to win the GP3 title at Monza this weekend, wound up in tenth place. Sörensen was 1.4 seconds adrift of Felix.
Practice was run in comfortable temperatures, and despite some dark clouds circulating over the Northamptonshire circuit, the complete one-hour session was run in fully dry conditions.
The all-important qualifying session - which will set up the grid for both the first and the third race of the weekend - takes centre stage at Silverstone this afternoon, with LIVE commentary coverage at www.felixracing.se commencing at 15.15 local time (GMT+01:00).
