Felix has been named "Junior Racing Driver of the Year" by Swedish specialist magazine Bilsport. The respected accolade, which has been handed out each year since its inception in 2000, highlights up-and-coming Swedish driving talents who have performed particularly well during the course of the past season. The winner is selected by a jury consisting of representatives from Bilsport magazine, Swedish ASN the SBF and a panel of racing experts.
Felix receives the award on the back of a successful debut season in Formula 3 Euro Series, where he backed up victory at the Hockenheim finale with a further nine podiums and five fastest laps. 2011 also saw the Mücke Motorsport driver become the first Swedish winner of the prestigious Masters of Formula 3 at Zandvoort.
With Felix taking the honours in the "Racing Driver" category, a further four young guns from across other echelons of the sport - including rallying and rallycross - have also received similar awards in their respective domains. An overall Grand Prize, "Junior Driver of the Year", will be received by the one driver out of the quintet who obtains the highest number of votes in Bilsport's web-based readers' poll. To place your vote today, simply click here and follow the instructions (in Swedish only).
The prize for the award will officially be handed to Felix at Bilsport's annual motorsport gala, which takes place in Stockholm on January 28th. Felix Racing will be there to bring you pictures and news from the evening, which celebrates the major moments of Swedish motorsport in 2011. The recipient of the Junior Driver of the Year title will also be announced at the gala.
