Felix comes home tenth in Hockenheim Race 2

FIA Formula 3 European Championship | Round 3

Felix took the chequered flag in tenth place in Saturday's second FIA Formula 3 European Championship race at Hockenheim, as he once again came home as the top performer out of Mücke Motorsport's quartet of drivers.

Felix started from tenth on the grid, but immediately made up a couple of positions on the run to Turn 1. Equipped with a set of old tyres while his front-running rivals opted for new ones, however, Felix dropped back to tenth again and eventually crossed the line in the same position from which he had started the race.

The decision not to use any new Hankook rubber today will hand Felix a potential advantage in the final race tomorrow morning, when he will have a full set of fresh tyres to count on as he sets off from fourth on the grid.

Felix's team-mates came home in 15th (Mitch Gilbert), 16th (Roy Nissany) and 21st (Michael Lewis) place respectively.

"It was quite apparent that we didn't have the ultimate pace to fight for the very best results in this race, but I think a lot of it had to do with our decision to use old tyres. Starting from fourth tomorrow, we thought it made more sense to save our new set until then to try and bring home a really strong result - and considering that, we were actually rather competitive today. We might have to look at the set-up to try and optimise our package as we go forward, but we should be in good shape for tomorrow - and I really want to end this weekend on a high."
