Felix went 11th quickest in the second and final free practice session for the 2013 Macau Grand Prix on Friday morning, as he prepared for the forthcoming second qualifying showdown.

Felix and his Mücke Motorsport team used the session to trial out a series of new set-up ideas, including running less and more downforce than yesterday in the pursuit of a competitive package for the rest of the weekend.

The session ran without incident for Felix, while Prema Powerteam's Lucas Auer brought out the sole red flag after crashing at Police.

This afternoon will mark a hugely important part of the Macau Grand Prix weekend, as the second and decisive qualifying session towards the grid for Saturday's Qualification Race takes centre stage at 14.45 local time.

"We used this session mainly to try out some new set-ups; some of them were good, and some of them were less so. I didn't want to push too much since it's only practice, but I think we'll be alright for second qualifying this afternoon. Times will definitely be quicker than yesterday, so we will have to up our game accordingly. It won't be easy, but with the help of everything we learned in this session, it should be OK."
