Race 3 stopped due to rain

FIA Formula 3 European Championship | Round 1
Venue:
Autodromo Nazionale Monza (Italy) | Date: 24 March 2013 | Weather: Rain

By Mattias Persson

The third and final FIA Formula 3 European Championship race of the weekend at Monza was brought to a premature end amid immense rain over the Italian venue.

The race was stopped after eight laps - many of them spent behind the safety car - meaning that just half points were awarded since less than 75 % of the race distance had been completed. Felix, having started in 12th place, came home 11th in an event where no overtaking moves were attempted throughout the full 30-car field in some of the worst conditions in recent F3 history.

QUOTE | FELIX
"The officials made a wise choice to stop this race. It was very dangerous out there, and visibility was absolutely zero - we are talking less than a meter ahead of you while doing 240 km/h. It was all about just keeping the car on the track, and when there's that much water on the track, there's no point going on."
