Throughout the autumn, www.felixracing.se will be running a series of articles where we look back at some of Felix's previous rivals - and chart where their careers have taken them by 2012. A new profile will be introduced every seven days. This week: Valtteri Bottas.
Raced against Felix: 2007 (Formula Renault NEC), 2010-2011 (Macau GP)
Today: Test and reserve driver at Williams in Formula 1
Ever since Keke Rosberg won the Formula 1 drivers' title in 1982, Finland has been a motorsport superpower. Armed with a well-functioning corporative climate and a tradition of established names offering advice to up-and-coming talent, the Finnish way has enabled the likes of Mika Häkkinen and Kimi Räikkönen to celebrate unbelievable F1 success. The next Finn in line could well be Valtteri Bottas.
Bottas raced against Felix Rosenqvist at the Macau Grand Prix in 2010 and 2011 (and also at a one-off in Formula Renault NEC back in 2007), and - like Felix - has won the prestigious Masters of Formula 3 at Zandvoort. Bottas claimed the GP3 title in 2011 after a successful stint in Formula 3 Euro Series, and is currently vying for a race seat in Formula 1 after three years as test and reserve driver with the Williams squad.
Previously: Rio Haryanto, Jean-Éric Vergne, Kevin Magnussen, James Calado, Laurens Vanthoor, Mathias Beche, Stef Dusseldorp, Roberto Merhi
