Victory at Sepang after flawless overtaking manoeuvre!

FORMULA ASIA 2.0
ROUND 1 - SEPANG
RACE 1 & 2

Felix Rosenqvist showed some of his race craft when he overtook leader Mathias Beche, Champ Motorsport, to win the second Formula Asia 2.0 race of the weekend at Sepang International Circuit on Friday. The first heat of the day - where Felix stood on Pole Position following his qualifying performances on Thursday - saw the Swede finish in second place behind Swiss Beche after struggling with major understeer for most of the race. However, Felix was beaten but not defeated and returned stronger than ever for race 2. The start itself wasn't great, but good enough to follow Beche around the lap and make what was referred to as the "move of the weekend" when he overtook the Champ Motorsport driver going into the difficult yet wide final corner. Stealing the ideal line at the entry to the start and finish straight, Rosenqvist was never to be headed again and run away from the competition, winning by 6.4 seconds in a car more suitable to Felix's own input and preferences than was the case in race 1. March3 Racing had an overall good day at work, as Frenchman Benjamin Rouget rounded off the podium with 3rd in the first race. The Sepang victory represents the third out of four possible this season for Swede Rosenqvist, although the first two at Shanghai unfortunately won't count towards the Championship. One more qualifying run - and, more importantly, a further race - await the drivers in Malaysia this weekend, with the weather forecast promising yet more sun and a temperate climate during all remaining sessions.
